Logano, 34, a Middletown native, held off Championship 4 contenders Ryan Blaney, William Byron, and Tyler Reddick to claim the title, according to NASCAR.com.

Logano joins rarified air with the win. Only Richard Petty, Dale Earnhart, Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Lee Petty, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, and Tony Stewart have claimed three Cup Series Championships, per NASCAR.com.

The last to do it was Stewart in 2011.

Logan drives the No. 22 car for Team Penske. This is the third Bill France Trophy for the team in three years.
